There’s no doubt about it…Carrie Underwood’s got some hot legs! Keep reading to find out the Carrie Underwood Leg Workout she uses to get those gorgeous Carrie Underwood legs in perfect red-carpet condition!
Personally, my legs have always been a source of frustration for me! My sister and I always joked growing up that we had “soccer legs.” Which was a nicer way to say our legs looked like a couple of tree trunks. It was all in fun, of course, but it always bothered me.
I have spent the better part of ten years trying to slim my legs down through conventional methods. I hired a personal trainer, tried yoga, pilates, kickboxing, squats, lunges, deadlifts, HIIT training, you name it…all in an effort to get lean, feminine legs. The result was that my legs continued to get thicker…not fatter, but thicker, which is the opposite of what I wanted.
The truth is that most women shouldn’t lift weights with their legs because their cardio provides enough resistance to create that lean, feminine look, and all those leg exercises overtax the muscles which then produce bulk. I was walking proof of that. I decided to sign up for a marathon and take on running as a sport (which had nothing to do with my frustration with my soccer legs, but was rather something I have always wanted to do). After one month into my training, I noticed that my legs were becoming leaner and leaner. By marathon time, I had (for the first time ever in my life) great looking and feminine legs!
So what is the Carrie Underwood Leg Workout? If you want to learn the secret behind great legs and adding some Carrie Underwood leg exercises into your routine, the answer isn’t glamorous, but it is effective: RUN. There is absolutely no other exercise that produces the results that running does. In boxing, it is called “road work” and boxers use it to shred fat and drop weight quickly before a weigh-in. In personal training, we call it “marathon cardio”, or running at a low-moderate pace for 45-60 minutes, 5 times per week. This is also incredibly effective for those wanting to lose muscle mass in your legs as the muscle begins to break down at that point and reduces in size. If you’re unable to run for that long, that’s okay. Start wherever you’re at and add one minute with each run. You’ll get there!
I told you it wasn’t glamorous, but I guarantee you it is effective. Couple marathon cardio with a reduced caloric intake and you are well on your way to sporting your own set of Carrie Underwood legs. Goodbye tree-trunks!
